MBI Group of companies (“MBI”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our clients, visitors, users and customers. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) is intended to inform you how we gather, define, and utilise your personal information such as name, address and email address (“Information”), to assist you in making informed decisions when using our website and services. All your personal and company information shall be held and used in accordance with the GDPR 2018. This policy relates to MBI Real Estate Limited and all of its subsidiary companies including MBI Structures and Design Limited, jointly referred to as “MBI” throughout this policy.

What information do we collect?

When you visit our website, or send us an email (including staff / employees and the company) you may choose to provide us with personal information on an individual basis. You also provide website-use information collected as you and others browse our website. Personal and individual information will only be collected if it is provided to us such as by way of email or subscribing (opting-in). The information that is then provided and held will only be done so as required by the company to legitimately carry out its business.

The main purpose of holding data is to provide clients and customers with property updates as requested by them – and this can be unsubscribed from at any time. From 25th May 2018 contact will only be made on this basis to ‘subscribers’ and customers who provide us with their data via email or phone (and where it is written). Data will otherwise be deleted unless there is a legitimate legal reason to retain this information to maintain appropriate records. This will be stated within client contracts and the time in which data may be held subject to approval of the client and customer.

The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. So, whilst we will do our best to protect your information, we cannot ensure the security of your data transmitted to our website. Any information you submit is sent at your own risk. Once we have received your information we securely store it in an online database (through Google, Dropbox and WordPress), and only with your consent or request, will we contact you using it – it is not passed on to any third parties without your express consent.

Similar to other commercial websites, our website uses a technology called “cookies” and web server logs to collect information about how our website is used. Information gathered through cookies includes the date and time of visits, pages viewed, visitors location and time spent browsing.

Where we store your personal data

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your information is stored and treated securely, with your consent, and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. In order to cover the standard commercial lease cycle of 3-10 years, commercial property records will normally be retained for 11 years from the time of data entry unless there is an earlier request to have data deleted. Residential property records will normally be retained for 1 year however photographic evidence (including those of surveys and valuation work) will normally be held electronically and for a maximum of 30 days as advised on instruction.
